AET Highlights May 2023
Our participation at Singapore Maritime Week
In April, SMW brought together the global maritime community with our senior management participating in various sessions.
At the highly anticipated Sustainability@SMW conference, Capt. Rajalingam Subramaniam discussed with other prominent maritime leaders the CEO's Vision on Delivering Net-Zero. He also shared his insights at the Talent Market in Transition forum on the dynamics of the global workforce.
John Baptist, our Global Director, VLCC/PCS and Head, Decarbonisation Unit, MISC participated at the Lloyd's Register Maritime Transformation Forum where he highlighted AET’s efforts towards decarbonisation including our recent MOU collaborations on zero-emission vessels to be delivered in 2026. While we are collaborating with our partners to encourage the use of ammonia as a fuel, we are also looking beyond just fuel, as decarbonisation and delivering net-zero will be through multiple energy pathways.
In addition, Capt. Sachi Atmalingam, our Global Director, CHSSE & Sustainability delivered a compelling presentation at the Maritime Decarbonisation Conference, Asia where he emphasised a higher mandate to achieving emission reductions that goes beyond the usual technical solutions or mere compliance.
Celebrating Women in Maritime
18 May marks the IMO’s International Day for Women in Maritime to celebrate women in our industry who are contributing to the future of maritime.
At AET, we value the rich diversity that exists in our organisation which we know drives greater understanding and alignment with our stakeholders. Within our Sustainability Strategy, we see Diversity and Inclusion as an essential component with UNSDG 5 Gender Equality being one of the 11 identified UNSDGs we commit to. We make concerted efforts to contribute to the progress of the industry and support our female talents to achieve a representation across our global workforce by celebrating their strength, resilience and achievements.
We have put together a short feature to showcase thoughts from women of AET across our offices, as they reflect on meaningful encounters in AET. Click on the image below to hear their insights!
Let’s continue to build an inclusive environment for all!
AET at Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2023
Our colleagues were happy to participate at OTC in Houston, Texas supporting our parent company MISC, where they unveiled the Mega-Module Engineering and Green Architecture, set to be one of the world’s largest and greenest FPSOs. It was also a great opportunity for us to catch up with our stakeholders including customers, suppliers and business partners, as we continue to build partnerships and collaborate across the industry.
Building connections and careers
At AET, we strongly believe in providing young talents with the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in the maritime industry. As such, we actively engage with undergraduates at career fairs and other industry events to share our experiences and insights about our business.
Recently, we had the pleasure of participating in career fairs in the US at the University of St. Thomas (TX) and Texas A&M University Galveston Campus. We were able to meet with a diverse group of talented individuals and enjoyed sharing our industry experiences and knowledge with students who were eager to learn about potential career opportunities.
