?
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a comprehensive review order for Boeing 737 MAX-9 aircraft following an incident on an Alaska Airlines flight that resulted in the loss of part of its fuselage, necessitating an emergency landing.
?
Grupo Aeromexico announced that, in line with the FAA's directives, it will keep its 19 Boeing 737 MAX-9 aircraft grounded while authorities conduct necessary inspections.
?
This event is directly linked to the incident on Alaska Airlines Flight 1822, which was using a similar aircraft. The flight departed from Portland, Oregon, bound for Ontario, California, and experienced the detachment of a window during the flight. Fortunately, the aircraft returned to its departure airport without major incidents for passengers.
?
In response, the FAA has ordered the temporary suspension of Boeing 737 MAX-9 aircraft operated by U.S. airlines or within its jurisdiction for immediate inspections. At least 171 aircraft are expected to undergo these reviews.
?
In the case of Grupo Aeromexico, with a fleet of 153 aircraft, 19 of them are of the mentioned model. The airline has stated that inspections of the MAX-9 aircraft will be carried out as expeditiously as possible to resume operations as scheduled. Furthermore, it commits to working closely with Boeing and relevant authorities.
?
Aeromexico has assured that it will keep its customers informed of any updates and that its top priority is ensuring the safety of its passengers and employees.
