Aeroflot employees are dissatisfied with the new aircraft maintenance reform.

Aeroflot employees complained to Vladimir Putin about the desire of the authorities to abolish the aircraft maintenance department - now it employs about 2,000 people.

The reform of the maintenance block was approved on February 24 by the company's board of directors: according to its provisions, it is necessary to review the issues of aircraft maintenance, removing duplicating functions and transferring them completely to A-Technics, owned by the carrier.

The chairman of the trade union committee of Aeroflot, Nikolai Izosimov, in his letter to the leadership of the National Guard, said that the reform would entail, first of all, the loss of jobs by employees of the maintenance department.

“This is an absolutely corporate issue, and ensuring flight safety is an absolute priority,” Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response to a request to comment on the complaint of Aeroflot employees.

The representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency, in turn, noted that, in accordance with the current legislation, airlines independently determine the scheme of the organizational structure for managing their commercial activities.
