AEP Now Available on GCP

AEP Now Available on GCP

Exciting news for all of those avid digital marketing professional and digital experience makers out there. Adobe and Google have been able to put aside their technology rivalry differences by making the Adobe Experience Platform available on Google's Cloud Platform infrastructure.

Marketers now don't have to make difficult decisions as to where they collect, process and activate their data. No longer do they need to try and explain to their bosses that despite being a major GCP customer they want to also copy all their data into AEP for the purpose of data activation using Adobe's tools like Customer Journey Analytics, Adobe Journey Optimizer and Real-Time CDP.

Adobe's partnership with Google will now allow seamless data collection from GCP applications to be available directly in AEP tools. In practical terms this means that any customer running GA4 will have their data available in real-time in Customer Journey Analytics for deeper customer-level insight creation. They will then be able to activate any audiences they build through this insight directly back into the Google Marketing Platform as well as pretty much any other customer touch-point through a combination of Adobe Journey Optimizer and the Real-Time Customer Data Platform.

Going one step further, customers of the Data Science Workbench tool will be able to access all their raw data currently available on GCP through the machine learning modelling tools within DSW without any duplication or redundancy.

Ok, sorry about that! I would be nice however if this were actually true. We're finding that many customers want to be able to benefit from what Google has to offer in the form of GA4 with raw events coming into BigQuery (often running their data architecture on GCP) as well as Adobe's rich insights and data activation tools that site inside of the Adobe Experience Platform. Perhaps if AEP were available directly on GCP it would make many people's lives a lot easier!

In the absence of this reality, we have at least created a whitepaper that explains how and why businesses many want to run GA4 alongside Customer Journey Analytics. This whitepaper goes into detail about what the differences between the tools are, why you would want to run then together, what value they can produce and technically how you can achieve it in the most efficient way.
