With more than 8.5 million members nationwide through Medicare Advantage plans, stand-alone Prescription Drug Plans and Medicare Supplement insurance, Humana prioritizes the health and well-being of seniors and other individuals eligible for Medicare every single day.?
The Humana team has worked tirelessly for nearly a year to prepare its Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans for 2025 and ensure our members have access to affordable plans, high-quality care, and benefits they have told us really matter to them. I am thankful for the thousands of employees from across the company – product design, actuarial, analytics, research, provider networks, finance, market teams and many more – who came together to think about the experience of our members and design affordable plans that include the benefits they truly value.??
In just a few weeks, Medicare beneficiaries will be able to choose their health plan for next year during the Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan Annual Election Period (AEP), which happens Oct. 15-Dec. 7.???
Every year, Medicare Advantage plans adapt to changes in the healthcare environment and regulations. This year, there’s a shift in the Medicare market overall to focus on things like enriched pharmacy benefits. In 2025, we will see the most change to the Part D benefit since the addition of the Medicare prescription drug benefit in 2006. While these changes will provide benefits to members through streamlined cost sharing and the addition of a new Part D out-of-pocket cost limit, it comes with more plan responsibility.??

While designing plans each year, we seek to balance the benefits our members value most while recognizing premium dollars needed to support their medical costs. Because plans change every year, it’s important for Medicare beneficiaries to understand what might be different about their plan from one year to the next. Medicare beneficiaries receive an Annual Notice of Change in September outlining any plan changes, so they can determine if the plan still meets their personal health needs.?
