AEC “Tip of the Spear” Professionals Make AGC BIM Program a Success in Central America

The AGC BIM Education Program Course and Exam V3 launched in Central America in Panama City, Panama. It was only fitting that the city famous for its history of connecting the world though the modern marvel that is the Panama Canal would host the BIM education program that has helped connect AEC professionals and teach the fundamentals of BIM management. The participants came from various locations and AEC backgrounds in Central America including Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. It was amazing to see the passion, innovation, and energy that these professionals have. They are truly, as they say in Spanish the "tip of the spear" of the AEC industry within their countries. These will be the future leaders of BIM advocacy as BIM continues to grow in Latin America.

The AGCA worked with Pablo Medina and Ariel Castillo, approved BIM EP instructors to coordinate the instruction of all 4 BIM EP V3 units. The AGCA gives special thanks to Johnny Mora of BLUE AEC Studio and Rogelio Paredes of PCCAD who lead the course facilitation in Panama. Both companies are leaders in BIM and VDC implementation and spearheaded the roll-out of the course in Panama. Lookout for another course coming soon to Costa Rica in Spring of 2019!
