When you?focus on what you don't have I promise you that's a symptom?of somebody sabotaging?something in their life or is going to. Comparison?is the thief?of joy.
Do you ever feel when you start doing more and more things right and things are going well, you're kicking ass consistently...something is pulling you away from your focus? Sometimes we hit that flow state and its glorious, but sometimes it's like no matter what we do we always hit a wall.?
When we start picking up and doing well, we can sometimes after a week or 2 of flow state automatically say "this is too much, I need a break or vacation" or "great I'm making good money I am going to buy myself something expensive" (sometimes before the commission check even comes), "I need a drink"....
What if I told you this could all be a symptom?of self-sabotage?
Ed break's down his 7 Symptoms?of Self-Sabotage in today's video. Watch it and reflect on each?one. Here is my breakdown below.?
- Personal Identity: This means you're letting who you think you are limit your potential. Don't let labels or past mistakes define you; instead, focus on what you can become. ALTER EGO EFFECT
- Focus On The Past: If you're constantly dwelling on what's already happened, you're not moving forward. Success in real estate is about focusing on the present and future opportunities, not what's already done. Always think of Rafeki in the Lion King - smack yourself in the head with a stick. ‘It’s in da past’?
- Focusing on Lack of Things: When you're fixated on what you don't have, you're missing out on utilizing what you do have. Shift your mindset to gratitude and resourcefulness to unlock your potential.
- Comparing Yourself: Constantly measuring yourself against others only leads to dissatisfaction. In real estate, your competition is irrelevant; focus on your own growth and progress.
- Focus on what you can't control: Worrying about things beyond your control wastes energy. Instead, channel that energy into actions that you can control, like prospecting and providing excellent service.
- Getting Discouraged: Setbacks are inevitable, but letting them derail you is a choice. In real estate, resilience is key; use setbacks as learning opportunities and keep pushing forward.
- Getting Distracted: Losing focus on your goals and getting pulled in different directions will hinder your success. Stay disciplined and prioritize your tasks to stay on track toward your real estate goals.
- Celebrating Too Long: While it's important to acknowledge achievements, dwelling on them for too long can stall your progress. Keep the momentum going by swiftly transitioning from celebration to setting new goals and taking action to achieve them. What have you done lately?
Remember that you are worthy and deserving of everything you desire. The most powerful thing you can do right now is become aware of these self-sabotaging moments and embrace them as fact. Focus on shifting your mindset and be the future you. They will thank you for pushing yourself and keeping you on track.
