AdWords Case Study - The company concerned rents apartments out at between 3000 and 4000 euros per month per unit. They have 6 apartments in total and they had been laying empty for 8 months.

The brief was to fill these apartments as quickly as possible as the owners were now losing money.

e needed a quick solution and agreed with the reluctant owner that paid adverts were the best solution for the circumstances. The owners had tried paid advertising before and had spent a lot of money with next to no ROI hence “reluctant”.

We setup and started the campaign on Saturday 12th May 2018 in the afternoon, the first 2 apartments were rented out by Tuesday 15th May 2018 at an AdWords cost of ￡1.49 by the 23rd May 2018, 5 of the 6 apartments have been rented out with an overall AdWords cost of ￡4.07

CTR = 1.46%

Average CPC ￡0.34

Overall total cost of campaign = ￡4.07 (as of 23rd May 2018)

Setup of Campaign ￡350 (fixed fee)

Return based on lower amount of 3000 euro per unit

3,000 x 5 = 15,000

ROI

Investment revenue = 15,000 euros

Investment costs = ￡350 + ￡4.07 = ￡354.07 = 403.43 euros (approx. based on Google search)

Return on investment = 3618%

Remember these are rental apartments therefore the ROI is per month. It’s difficult to put an exact cost against this as we do not know how long each apartment will be occupied.

We have advised the customer to turn the campaign on and off as required as and when the apartments are available to rent.
