Point No. 05: "In the Adversity, practice Self-Care and Cultivate Your Spirituality"

Dear Community,

Welcome to the final point of our LIFE PILLS FOR A SURVIVAL GUIDE program! We've covered a range of valuable topics so far, but I want to assure you that the last point is perhaps the most important one. In this newsletter, we'll discuss the significance of practicing self-care and cultivating your spirituality during tough times and tell you how we managed it during our 1775 days of captivity.

Life can be challenging, and it's crucial to prioritize your well-being, especially when you're facing adversity. Self-care involves taking intentional steps to care for your physical, mental, and emotional health. It's about dedicating time to activities that bring you joy, peace, and relaxation. This can be as simple as reading a book, going for a walk in nature, practicing yoga, or indulging in a hobby that rejuvenates you.

No matter your beliefs or the entity you turn to be it God, the universe, or any other superior for nurturing your spirituality can provide a profound source of guidance and support. It can offer you solace, hope, and the assurance that you are not alone in your struggles. Your spiritual practice can take various forms, such as prayer, meditation, attending religious services, or engaging in mindful activities that connect you with your inner self.

In a particular situation from the bottom of my heart, I must share with you the harrowing journey we endured. We were subjected to unimaginable physical and psychological torture, akin to the horrors witnessed in Nazi concentration camps. Yet, against all odds, here we stand, alive and stronger than ever before.

It is very important to maintain your inner circle and your mental health however, I want to explain how we handle it from our point of view every day as hostages for five years. During that time, I have said in other chapters we lived horrors. It was practically like living in a Nazi concentration camp toward the beginning. if we had moments when we were totally isolated, we had no access to books, news, call, or any contact with the exterior world, however, I think the most important thing was we decided to cultivate our inner being and our spirituality. and how by connecting it with God, we rediscover ourselves, that the connection with God is what made the difference.

During that time, at a time when we could have access to books, a book came to me by an Austrian author named Victor Frankl, the book is called “Man’s Search for Purpose” ?and that bookmarked my life because it is the Lord had been speaking to me, ?because he was speaking that the way to survive is by finding God and finding a purpose in life, and we find God and we find a purpose in coming back to our families strong in soul, body, and spirit

We found God because we could at the given moment have access to the Bible and we read it, ?we prayed we shared the bible. And there comes a time when we begin to have a magical presence of God with us. that connection with God that is there. It was magical, and I am going to narrate it extensively in my book.

when we returned, the first thing I did when I landed here in the United States after being in the decompression program, was go to church to thank and worship God, and today every Sunday, I worship him and today I participated in a group of elderly people for the church, and I have considered that this is a life mission.

I think the most important part is cultivating that inner being and cultivating spirituality because money and material things come and go, today we have and tomorrow we don't have.

People put their life in jeopardy because they lost material things

Gentlemen, life is one, and material things can be put back together, but your spirituality transcends, is above everything, and is the connection with God.

Worship god because in my case I discovered that God was giving me many signs, but I was not seeing them.

I had forgotten that and now today I see the signs and I realize that God was always there. He always stopped me by accompanying me, he always showed me the way and he put me here in this new fight because he wants me to carry this message to others.

I was in church this morning and received a call from the holy spirit to do this.

Gentlemen, cultivate your spirituality and whatever has been in life you can bear to face and cope with because God is with you

God will always prove that you can overcome it!!!

Remember, even in the face of adversity, know that you are never abandoned. Cultivating your spirituality can help you find the strength to endure, the wisdom to navigate challenges, and the resilience to emerge stronger.

In the depths of despair, we discovered a resilience that surpassed our wildest expectations. It was in those darkest moments that we found solace in our newfound spiritual connection with God. We clung to our faith, drawing inspiration from the stories of biblical figures such as Christ, Peter, and Paul. Their messages of hope, redemption, mercy, and wisdom resonated within us, providing an anchor of inner peace.

If, by sharing my experiences, I can ignite a spark within your minds and souls, if I can convince you that your sufferings can be overcome and that nothing is impossible with faith and hope in God, then I would have fulfilled the purpose of my life. This journey has been a carousel of emotions, and my deepest desire is for you to embrace its lessons and reach the same conclusions.

I implore you to share this transformative experience with others, to describe the profound emotions you have felt. Let this be the legacy I leave for my grandchildren and future generations.

My purpose is to spread a message of hope, faith, and redemption. No matter how catastrophic an event may be, it is not the event itself, but the lessons that God places in our path that truly matter. If we are vigilant and perceptive, signs will emerge, allowing us to transcend our circumstances. This is the great discovery of life.

May our journey together serve as a beacon of light for all those who find themselves lost in the darkness. Let us embrace hope, have unwavering faith, and seek redemption in the face of adversity. There is no challenge too great, no obstacle insurmountable when we have God by our side.
