Adversity brings out both the best and worst in us

Adversity brings out both the best and worst in us

Looking back today at an year that was and is still on going. March2020. I was taking my class in DAMS Kolkata in Nazrul Mancha with a jam packed auditorium and enjoying the classroom teaching. On the way back airport seemed bit disturbing with more and more people wearing masks. Next day the lock down happened. My sole concern was how to manage the continuity of education for our students. Decided to introduce LIVE classes on our app eMedicoz. People were skeptical. First 7days only talked to the tech teams and worked out the dynamics. 1st April, Live classes commenced. We started small with 2 hour sessions, gradually increasing the duration and flow. Entire #TeamDAMS supported. Entire faculty and Office team rose to the occasion. Finally we finished the syllabus on Sep20 as promised in the beginning of the year. In between we nominated our work for PM Modi's App innovation challenge and won a special mention in eLearning category in #Aatmnirbhar AppInnovation Challenge. We were in top5 in eLearning category. We were evolving and improving. Entire team grew in confidence with National recognition.

Then came the time to conduct our revision session called as DVT which is conducted in talkatora stadium with massive energy and concepts. Again people were skeptical, but I always had a dream, to deliver integrated concepts and decided that this is year to do it. 7days of India's first Integrated Medicine Teaching and energy packed sessions, we delivered the same energy and concepts that we do in the physical classroom. #TeamDAMS Rocked.

Now, in the coming year this LIVE feature will be given to all our face to face & VSAT students, they will also get app LIVE classes as an extra feature. We could somehow see the silver lining in the dark cloud.

This year has been an year of adversity and around us are stories of how people reacted to the adversities. You will find people who took the challenges head on and solved and people who froze in face of crisis.

Lesson that I have learnt in this year is adversity is a part of life. Key is in how you react to it.
