Adversity
There are no victories in life without tremendous adversity.
A great quote from one of the greatest coaches of all time, Nick Saban. We all know the cliche saying that failure is an opportunity to learn and grow - that because we fail is WHY we succeed. But why is that? ↓
The reason behind the WHY is the very act of overcoming adversity. Experiencing failure, adversity, or any other word used to describe internal or external defeat, doesn't mean we'll find success the next time around. The act of overcoming adversity directly correlates to how we respond to it. We all make mistakes. We all lose. We all face challenges. But how do we respond? A lot easier said than done.
One way to respond is knowing that adversity is coming, but also being prepared for it to come. Process, another word for preparation. Coach Saban also talks about process being a key factor in achieving success. Often we hear "process over outcome" or "focus on the journey not the result." But why do we also correlate that with success? The same is also true for failure, or adversity. It's not the mistake that creates the change - it's the response that does.
Expect adversity to come. Prepare for it to come. Want it to come.

Something to Note:
You need to be challenged by adversity to have a chance of overcoming it. Sometimes the challenge isn't what's directly in front of us - it's the act of overcoming the challenge itself.
