The Advent Type - The Three Wise Keys - 2nd December
I remember the first time I became familiar with the joy of control... or at least the [Control] key on the Windows Keyboard.
Windows is very consistent in that these three workflow short-cuts work in most programmes:
[Control] + [C]
will "Copy" whatever you have highlighted.
It's easy to remember: 'C' for 'Copy'
[Control] + [X]
will "Cut" whatever you've highlighted.
The 'X' reminds me of a pair of scissors.
[Control] + [V]
will "Paste" whatever you have on the clipboard.
The 'V' reminds me of the mirror image of the upside down 'V' used by proof-readers and editors to indicate an insert into a text.
Using these three key combinations has saved me hours over the years... and, more importantly, frees me from over reliance on the mouse.
Enjoy saving time so that you can spend more doing other things this Christmas!
