Advent of Testing: Issue #5

Advent of Testing: Issue #5

?? Welcome back to Advent of Testing, where each day brings a new exciting surprise!?

It’s day 5 of Advent of Testing, and with it comes a new challenge to conquer. We’ve got a special challenge today that's sure to test your smarts and your testing know-how.

Also, don't hesitate to share this with your fellow QA champions. The more minds we have, the merrier (and more efficient) the bug-crushing becomes! A quick reminder, the winner gets a cool ?? $50 e-gift card. So, dive right in.

Scenario: Santa's elves are getting ready for the big night! They've developed a new "Present Delivery Planner" app to optimize Santa's sleigh route and ensure all the good kids receive their gifts on time. But before launch, they need your help testing the app to avoid any holiday hiccups.

Problem: During initial testing, some elves noticed inconsistencies in the calculated delivery times. Sometimes, houses located closer to the North Pole were listed as requiring longer delivery times than houses farther away. This could lead to missed presents and disappointed children!

Tasks:

  1. Identify at least two basic types of test cases you would design to check the accuracy of the "Present Delivery Planner" app's distance calculations. Briefly explain the purpose of each test case. (Hint: Think about different locations and distances.)
  2. Write one detailed test case for your highest priority test case. Include the specific locations, expected delivery times, and expected results.
  3. Bonus: Suggest one additional way to improve the user experience of the "Present Delivery Planner" app.
