The Advent of the Fridge - The Beginning of Domestic Hoarding - The Nearing of the End

Before the fridge, we only bought as much as we could consume. Therefore, we only produced, packed, processed and transported as much as would be sold.
The assurance of sustainability, longer life, ease of storage, etc. led to bulk buying; excessive consumption and unnecessary wastage.
This demand led to if nothing else, complex, less biodegradable, complicated, first costly then cost-effective, tree-friendly, plastic, etc. packaging.
Then fast forward decades of greedy consumption, longer shelf life, and all ancillary progress and development: Where do we land? Waste management fiasco, environmental hazards, demands to retract, ozone going bonkers and nightmares of an apocalypse.
Curtail consumption. Save resources. Avoid disaster.
