Advantages of Guest Blogging for ESL Teachers

Greetings ESL teachers. Are you blog writers or have you ever produced content on teaching ESL? Do you talk about teaching tips, teaching experiences abroad, classroom management, TESOL jobs or other related topics? If so, I believe this will be of great interest to you. Our school writes articles about English in the News and Teaching with Technology. We would like to invite guest bloggers to join us in order to offer more diverse content to our readers, mainly ESL teachers just like yourself. There are a number of advantages to guest blogging. See if this is a good opportunity for you.

Exposure

Guest blogging is a great way to tell people who you are and what you write about. More than likely, if you are already blogging, you have your own channels where you post and your own specific readers. With guest blogging, you tap into a whole new group of readers; you create more exposure for your content and for your personal brand.

Build a bigger subscriber base

With your current blog and your shares across social media, you are still only scratching the surface of potential clicks and likes. Guest blogging gives you far more visibility and can exponentially grow your subscriber base with quality traffic.

Credibility

You are probably a highly qualified teacher within your school district, and your direct peers and network respect you. However, once you are out of your network, you are competing with a larger group of professionals who may have similar qualifications; then you are just one more fish in the sea. When guest blogging with sites that already have credibility in a specific market or niche, you gain exposure to new readers and tap into the credibility of those sites. Additionally, guest blogging can be a road to other great opportunities. Do not be surprised if you are paid commissions for help selling products and services, invited to ESL conferences, and see growing traffic to the site and to your blog.

Create search engine authority

One major benefit of guest blogging is that it helps to make your domain name more relevant and increases your search engine authority. As you post your content along with your bio and link on another site, you create backlinks to your site. This helps your site become more relevant in searches.

Social media

This is the one that gets a lot of buzz. Besides just posting your website links, a link to your social media page can create a bigger audience for you. Put it this way, if readers like your content, they will not hesitate to follow you on other social media platforms. Once they become followers, they more than likely will share some of your newer publications. As you continue to grow your reader base and social media presence, you start to prove the legitimacy of your content.

Networking

As a guest blogger, you will be in front of a whole new reader base. Don’t be surprised if you start to get new followers and people wanting to connect with you and exchange emails. Perhaps you will schedule some Skype calls to connect with some of the readers. You may even gain business opportunities through this. All in all, networking is powerful and we must leverage it.

What are you going to do?

Guest blogging can create a number of new opportunities and have a positive impact on your personal brand. We at EnglishKey believe in sharing high quality content and creating a solid relationship with our reader base. As our reader base grows and their hunger for new content increases, we are looking for great guest bloggers from the ESL arena.

How your content will be shared?

The content you share will be posted in two places: on our website’s blog page as guest post content; and in our weekly emails that go to students, teachers and schools.

We also encourage you to share this new post from the blog on your social media. This helps drive more traffic and increase the reader base.

  1. Teaching tips
  2. Teaching experiences
