advancing sustainability and well-being at work

Hello and welcome to the October edition of the Randstad Roundup. As we head closer to the end of 2024, it’s a great moment to raise awareness and celebrate the societal impact our teams have made, from championing mental well-being to driving positive environmental change.

empowering clients, talent and communities

At Randstad, sustainability is at the core of our mission to create a fair, equitable labor market and support the green transition. We see this reflected in what talent wants too: our research shows that 38% of workers say they wouldn’t choose an employer whose values on social and environmental issues didn’t align with their own.

Our latest Sustainability Report offers insights into the activities and partnerships Randstad employees undertake as part of our commitment to building a more sustainable and inclusive future for all. Hear all about it directly from our colleagues around the world in the next video:

the keys to long-lasting business impact

The 2024 United Nations Global Goals Week provided the opportunity to reflect on how organizations worldwide are helping to tackle the biggest challenges.

Here at Randstad, we have chosen to focus our sustainability strategy where we can make the greatest impact and ensure long-lasting results: promoting a fair labor market, fostering equity at work and supporting the green transition.

In this Forbes article, our CEO Sander van 't Noordende discussed how sustainability, equity and growth are key to businesses making a meaningful impact for generations to come. Read the full article here .?

supporting talent’s mental health

This October, we marked World Mental Health Day, reaffirming our dedication to fostering mental well-being in the workplace, as we strive to create a supportive and thriving environment for all.

Our flagship 2024 Workmonitor report found that 60% of workers say their personal life is more important than their work life, and for 57%, work-life balance is a higher priority than pay.

Our research shows employers must take a proactive approach to connecting with talent, respecting work-life balance and protecting mental well-being in the workplace.

With workers placing such value on balance, how can employers better support their people? We’ve shared these actionable steps organizations can take to help improve the mental health of their workforce.

That’s a wrap from us for this month! Stay tuned for our December wrap-up with even more insights from the world of work.

Randstad's commitment to sustainability and mental health reflects an impressive alignment with what today’s workforce values most—fairness, inclusivity, and well-being. The data in Workmonitor report highlights a critical shift: with 60% prioritizing personal life over work, it’s clear that companies supporting work-life balance and mental health will lead in attracting and retaining talent. In my experience, building this kind of culture involves continuous education and adapting to feedback. Employers investing in these areas don’t just support individual well-being—they unlock productivity and loyalty, driving lasting impact in today’s competitive labor market. Well done!

In the era of growing inequality which is currently at its pick for many nations , sustainable growth with firm focus on green transition is the key . This is everybody’s responsibility.
