Last week, we launched the "RHT Green Team," a volunteer initiative focused on sustainability. We invited enthusiastic staff members to join us in activities such as plastic bottle collection, premises embellishment, and beach cleaning.

The Green Team will also brainstorm and propose new sustainability ideas. Your participation is crucial in making RHT a greener company. Let's join hands to create a sustainable future! ????

?? Guest Editor: Pradeep Nuckchady, Product Development Lead at ICL

In this new section, we give a voice to our employees by featuring articles written by them. This week, we are proud to present an article by Pradeep Nuckchady , who shares the recent accomplishments and future plans of ICL.

"ICL has been actively developing its IoT platform, focusing on monitoring and controlling temperature sensors, water level sensors, and fuel monitoring sensors. A significant deployment of our IoT solutions using LoRaWAN network devices has been at VUT."

Focus Areas for This Financial Year

DELIKO Point of Sale (POS)

This year, we are emphasizing our DELIKO POS system in partnership with India-based SEMNOX. We have recently been chosen by a major hotel chain to deploy our POS solution in six restaurants—a significant achievement for ICL. This deployment could position us as a strong contender in the POS market, bolstered by our robust after-sales support services and short SLA commitments.

Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL)

Since last year, we have focused on Electronic Shelf Labels, primarily used in supermarkets and hotels. We have successfully deployed ESL tags in three 4-star+ hotels in Mauritius: Heritage Awali, Le Meridien Hotel, and Beachcomber Pointe Aux Cannoniers Hotel (launching this week).

Future Ventures

While we are also exploring mobility services, we'll keep that for another SPOTLIGHT for you folks :) . ICL remains ready to venture into promising technologies based on industry trends in Mauritius.

To quote myself: "The business of business is business" and ICL is committed to staying ahead of technological advancements and meeting the evolving needs of our clients."

?? HR Highlights: Meet Fabio Labonte, our new Trainee Technician at ICL

Fabio brings enthusiasm and a desire to learn, which will be invaluable to our team. We had a chat with Fabio to learn more about him and his aspirations in the Group.

1. Briefly describe your role and responsibilities at your new job position: "Installation of GPS device, sensors, gateway, IOT products, maintenance and survey Calibration of sensors, testing and configuration of devices"
2. What do you hope to accomplish in your new role at our company? "Build up experiences and allow myself to improve in fields slightly different to my primary field which is electrical and mechanical."
3. What is the most exciting project you have worked on in your career so far? My most exciting project was the implementation of the MIX telematics project for Total Energies"
4. What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field? Don't be impressed by the job description. Anything can be learnt and you can achieve more than you think, just don't give up."
5. Share a fun fact or hobby that you'd like your colleagues to know about you. "I really like to make fun about ANYTHING. Please, don't take it personally and feel free to make fun of my big fat belly"
