Advancing Primary Care in Utah: A Collaborative Effort for a Healthier Future

This week, our team at Sacred Circle Healthcare had the privilege of participating in Primary Care Day on the Hill at the Utah State Capitol. It was an inspiring opportunity to engage with legislators, primary care providers, and community outreach leaders, all united by a common goal—strengthening healthcare access and quality across Utah.

Why Primary Care Matters

Primary care serves as the foundation of a strong healthcare system. It is often the first point of contact for individuals seeking medical attention, playing a crucial role in preventive care, chronic disease management, and overall public health. By investing in accessible and affordable primary care, we can reduce long-term healthcare costs, improve patient outcomes, and build healthier communities.

Our Commitment to Serving Underserved Populations

At Sacred Circle Healthcare, we believe that quality healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. Our mission extends beyond serving Native communities—we proudly welcome anyone seeking compassionate, high-quality care, including individuals and families relying on Medicaid and other assistance programs.

For many, accessing healthcare can be a challenge due to financial barriers, provider shortages, or systemic inequalities. That’s why we are deeply committed to removing these obstacles by providing comprehensive primary care, preventive services, and specialty care to those who need it most. We don’t just see patients—we see people, stories, and communities that deserve to thrive.

Bridging Policy and Practice

One of the key takeaways from this event was the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers and policymakers. Meaningful change happens when legislative decisions are informed by the experiences of those on the frontlines—physicians, nurses, and community health advocates. Through these discussions, we explored ways to expand preventive care programs, enhance healthcare funding, and address provider shortages across the state.

Looking Ahead: A Call to Action

As healthcare continues to evolve, ongoing collaboration is essential. Events like Primary Care Day on the Hill remind us that policy and practice must go hand in hand to create a sustainable, patient-centered healthcare system.

We invite healthcare professionals, policymakers, and community leaders to join us in this mission. How can we work together to ensure that every Utahn has access to quality primary care—regardless of background, income, or insurance status? Let’s continue the conversation.
