It's a common misconception that transitioning from pneumatic to modern integrated systems inherently leads to energy savings. However, modern systems, while more accurate, can paradoxically consume more energy if not optimized effectively. The solution lies in leveraging modern technology for system optimization, implementing sequences that enhance energy efficiency without sacrificing comfort or operational efficacy.

For instance, by integrating improved scheduling based on occupancy rather than fixed time intervals, economizer controls that consider more than just ambient temperature, and dynamic airflow adjustments, we can achieve substantial energy savings while ensuring optimal comfort levels. Moreover, fully integrated systems facilitate remote monitoring, empowering owners to oversee building operations from anywhere with an internet connection, thus promoting healthy building environments.

Upgrading controls in a mechanical system mirrors renovating an old house – it's crucial to discern when to initiate changes and where to draw the line. While replacing pneumatic components like logic controllers and transmitters is a no-brainer, overlooking actuators can undermine system performance.

We advocate for replacing pneumatic actuators with reliable, high-performance alternatives such as Siemens PICVs (Pressure Independent Control Valves) or 西门子 KNX damper actuators and 西门子 KNX valve actuators. Similarly, retrofitting older valve and damper actuators with intelligent alternatives enhances control accuracy and reliability, essential for optimizing system performance.

However, the reliability of VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes poses a significant challenge. Retrofitting these boxes can be prohibitively expensive and technically complex, especially when dealing with antiquated systems lacking compatibility with modern communication protocols.
