Advancements in Sustainable Production: Reducing Our Carbon Footprint for Sebacic Acid (DC10)

Cathay Biotech Inc. is thrilled to announce a substantial milestone in reducing the carbon footprint associated with our sebacic acid production. Leveraging green and low-carbon energy sources while integrating our unique biomanufacturing process with enhanced low-carbon production methods has led to this remarkable progress. Under the principles of ISO 14040:2006 and ISO 14044:2006, our bio-conversion sebacic acid now reaches a reduced carbon footprint of less than 1.8kg CO?e/kg. This marks an outstanding reduction of over 40% compared to sebacic acid derived from castor oil using conventional chemical processes.

The streamlined one-step bio-conversion process for Cathay's sebacic acid operates under mild reaction conditions, ensuring heightened reaction and energy efficiency that surpasses conventional chemical processes. Moreover, the utilization of green and low-carbon energy further contributes to reduce the product's carbon footprint.

Sebacic acid can be used in the synthesis of long chain PA510, PA610, PA1010 engineering plastics, and specialty chemicals. Its extensive applications can be found in various industries including automotive, consumer electronics, industrial, and textile fields. Through the integration of low-carbon bio-conversion and proprietary technology, Cathay's sebacic acid demonstrates properties comparable to conventionally produced sebacic acid from castor oil. Notably, it exhibits reduced ash content and improved thermal stability, effectively enhancing downstream polymer quality. These advancements contribute to reduced carbon dioxide emissions across automotive, consumer electronics, and industrial fields.

At Cathay Biotech, our commitment to low-carbon development drives our pursuit of manufacturing high-performance green monomers and materials. We continue to focus on our line of green diacids, PDA, and polyamide materials, striving for sustainable optimization through technological innovation and low-carbon energy.

Looking ahead, our goal by 2035 is to further reduce the carbon footprint of our products by an additional 30-40%. This commitment ensures that we'll continue to provide our customers with comprehensive green and low-carbon solutions.
