Advanced Valve Solutions Presents at the IMECHE Conference in Sheffield

Advanced Valve Solutions (AVS) was invited to present their unique de-superheater solutions to the 'Pumps, Valves and Actuators Conference' in Sheffield on the 6th December.

Their 'Steam Cooled' de-superheater offers a unique (patented) solution to thermal stress cracking of the DSH lances. The use of 'cooling' steam to jacket the injection lances and probes ensures a reduction in the temperature differential between cooling water and the injection heads, eliminating thermal stress and significantly extending the life of the valve. This reduces down time and lost revenue and ensures that the disastrous consequences of a lost injection nozzle head are avoided.

The conference delegates were guided through the challenges that face power generation sites due to changes in demand and peaks and troughs in running time.

Details of de-superheating, PRDS and attemperation will be covered in detail at the next AVS training workshop schedule for the 13th February 2018.
