It was the 25th of February when I first received a negative product availability update regarding the?Tilta Advanced Ring Grip for DJI RS 2 Gimbal (B&H # TITGAARG)from #BandHphotovideo, and till today the grip is still not in stock. I have been contacting #Tilta directly but also haven’t had much luck. Peter Baerveldt, a fellow co-videographer at White Raven Productions, mentioned in an interview that he waited 7 months on his Tilta Ring Grip. This is such a shame because the design of the ring grip for the powerful #DJIroninRS2 gives you the ability to be a powerful #videographer, you can use your stabilizer longer, you can act as a focus-puller, and you can charge your whole film rig with one battery.
So, due to the great experiences I had with my Ronin-m, I quickly made the decision to purchase the new Ronin RS 2. An amazing stabilizer that is definitively an upgrade from the Ronin-m Series. The only shortfall it has is the lack of the ring grip ability, especially when you use a support vest like the #readyrig or #easrig. This is why the collaboration from DJI with Tilta looked so promising, an exceptional Stabilizer from DJI with an innovative ring grip from Tilta.

The grip is available for just under 800$ and some of the advertised advanced features are; Zero delay lens control, constant power supply through the handle or an external v-mount or gold plated battery, camera controls, and the quick-release design. The grip is a carbon fiber grip, which makes it lightweight and easy to handle for longer periods of time, the exact weight comes down to 1.15 kilograms, which is in comparison slightly less than the older DJI grip for the Ronin-M / Ronin-MX.
Peter Baerveldt, was able to get his hands on a Tilta advanced Grip and explained some other benefits of the grip in a review on Youtube. He compared the Tilta grip to a #MOVIfreefly grip and noticed (Timestamp 9:44) that the Movi grip is a lot harder to hold because of the size and the shape. Peter mentions that the calibration and the setup of the wireless focus and camera control are easy to handle, he explains these settings in dept in another video.?

To many, this grip is an amazing cutting edge tool that can be used in many ways in your #filmproduction, and the reviews on Tilta support this, just as they support the irritating of the extremely poor shipping conditions. I know I will be waiting till the day that B&H sends me a positive product availability email.

3 年Mark Grevers, I appreciate the breakdown of information with the use of jargon because it allowed me to better understand the back and forth that was happening in your article. I liked that you provided both sides of an argument for the product. It lets me believe you’ve done your research and can be trusted with the information you’re putting out about the product.
