?The Online School in collaboration with Professor Ioannis Koutromanos presents a new computational framework that enables the advanced and practical seismic analysis of reinforced concrete RC building systems. The methodology uses the new BTM-shell element, based on the beam-truss-model (BTM), and the new finite-element program FE-MultiPhys that enables parallel processing and is compatible with the graphical pre- and post-processor LS-PrePost. The BTM, developed over the last twelve years in numerous journal publications, has been extensively validated based on experimental testing results of RC walls, columns, beams, and slabs under static and dynamic loading while its computational efficiency for large structural systems was demonstrated in the collapse simulation of the Alto Rio building. Enhanced with a new reinforcing steel material, the BTM-shell methodology computes all critical damage and failure modes of RC walls. A report and User’s Manual as well as 4.5 hours of video tutorials on the computational framework are available together with a research version of FE-MultiPhys.
