-- Gen IV nuclear reactors promise to revolutionize energy production with enhanced efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Yet, this technology presents significant material challenges, which remain a key barrier to its development. Current research focuses on finding ways s to enhance materials' resistance to high temperatures, corrosive environments, and neutron radiation.?

For instance, the use of innovative coolants offers advantages in safety and non-proliferation but also raises concerns about embrittlement and corrosion. Similarly, neutron irradiation may lead to crystalline defects and changes in mechanical properties of the materials. Applying ceramic coatings to protect against chemical attacks is becoming an important approach to addressing these issues.?

Very promising technology. For fusion blankets also ceramic sheath are under evaluations, the sheath would allow to insert detectors in the gap, for enhanced safety. Licensing could become easier. good job
