I’m very excited to announce that Standout Medical Careers’ new website is live! You’ll find it much easier to navigate to find the information you want about services, upcoming workshops, webinars (including existing free webinars), and events.
Service offerings have been redeveloped across the board, including for medical students and doctors. Let me know what you think about the new design. I’d love to hear your feedback.
~~~~~~~~~
I had more opportunities to meet up with people in person for catch-ups, and present to groups of medical professionals. While I do webinars and some events virtually, it's wonderful meeting people face-to-face. If you’ve spent quite a bit of time online in Zoom meetings, then you’ll understand what I mean.
I plan to do more in-person events (including presenting at a large Brisbane hospital on 6 Jun), and would love to meet up with you in-person if you’re available in the following cities:
Get in touch if you’d like to organise a meet-up while I’m in your town.
And finally, April 4 marks a significant milestone for Standout Medical Careers as we celebrate our 4th anniversary!
I extend my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support. This celebration is not just about marking another year or enjoying a slice of birthday cake; it's a reflection of our continued commitment to providing essential career support to the incredible medical professionals we serve.
Your support fuels our mission and enables us to make a real difference in the lives of those dedicated to healing others. Here’s to the journey so far, and to the many more milestones we look forward to achieving together!?
March highlights
AMAQ Medical Careers Expo
AMAQ put on a fantastic Careers Expo on 9 March. It was great to meet Medical Students, Doctors, and representatives from Health Services across QLD.
The Careers Expo was a one-stop shop to showcase career opportunities and receive advice on finding dream jobs. I was included on a panel of experts for both morning and afternoon sessions, answering questions about CVs and job applications.
My business also sponsored a prize for a CV Overhaul package. Sarah Cook was the lucky winner. Congratulations, Sarah!
The event was followed up by a chance to talk over drinks and canapes with Expo attendees. Overall, this was a great event for networking and sharing knowledge.
SA Specialist Medical Colleges Career Workshop 2024?
The Specialist Medical Colleges Career Workshop 2024 was held in Adelaide on 19 March.
This event was open to all Medical Students, Interns PGY1, PGY2, and Doctors interested in entering into a specialist training program.
Everybody heard from consultants representing a range of colleges and had the chance to speak with people who support Medical Students and Doctors throughout their careers, including those from MIGA, AMA SA, and AMSA.
It was wonderful to return to Adelaide and meet up with past clients, my MIGA partners, and present at the extremely well put-together Medical Colleges Career Workshop. It was also a great chance to meet senior and trainee representatives from each college.
Gala Dinner – Brisbane Women’s Shelter
The Safe Haven Community Gala Dinner was held on 23 March.? The event was dedicated to supporting women fleeing domestic violence and coercive control, by providing them with emergency accommodation in a safe home.
There were many heartfelt stories of people helping others facing adversity. Jaeneen Cunningham (Money Mentor) and her team’s work with this is inspirational. It was wonderful to hear that businesses including Boral are helping build more safe havens for women and children.
If you can spare $10 to buy a brick for one of the safe homes planned across Australia and help get one more family off the streets, please donate via this link: https://www.safehavencommunity.com.au/support-us/buyabrick
Safe Haven Community is a registered charity.
