National free school meal voucher scheme
The government's national Free School Meals Voucher scheme has been live since the 18th January.
As part of the government's attempt to provide support to disadvantaged families during this pandemic, schools can now purchase egift cards for eligible families to use at their choice of supermarkets.
This will be an online service which will be worth £15 a week per child, free meal codes can be received via email to be redeemed, if families can not access their online service, gift cards can be provided by post for families without internet access.
Last year 380 Million worth of voucher codes were redeemed into supermarket gift cards during that time.

One in five primary pupils go to school during England lockdown
The government has provided a little insight into primary school attendance during lockdown.
One in five pupils physically attended school on Monday 11th January, education unions have been expressing their concerns as schools move online to everyone except vulnerable and key worker children until further notice.
In the survey by school leaders’ union NAHT, 34 per cent of school leaders said they had more than one third of children still physically in school this lockdown, while 12 per cent said more than 40 per cent of pupils were in.

Boris Johnson: English schools 'priority' for reopening but no date yet – video
Boris Johnson has released a video highlighting that once Covid infection rates come down schools will reopen, he was unable to provide a date but made England aware that the data will be examined in line with the review date on the 15th February.
