Adopting agile? DON'T start with the agile manifesto

Despite the controversial title, I'm not out to trash the agile manifesto. I don't disagree with anything it says and I'm grateful for the positive movement it's inspired. I totally agree with your statement and article. I have shared it with my internal TCS community. In my view, if the basics are not there the manifesto does not help to build an agile WoW mindset. As an example, for most of the times, we start using google maps before we get used to the surrounding. We follow directions before we get comfortable to innovate. However, in orgs we jump to be self-organized without knowing the team dynamic, just as one of the examples.

Like it Amanda, the manifesto does put a lot of people off in my experience especially as it’s software focused not business outcome focused in how it’s written.
