ADOPTED HURLING SONS

Men who have hurled in All-Ireland senior finals with their adopted counties

With Waterford fielding Meath native Jack Fagan in Sunday’s 2020 All-Ireland final, we delved into the archives to locate the men in whose footsteps he follows. While non-natives heavily populated Dublin hurling teams in their 24?All-Ireland final appearances between 1889 and 1961 the fielding of non-natives in hurling’s blue riband event by the other counties is not nearly as prevalent, Fagan becoming just the 30th in 110 years …

The 29 adopted sons, beginning with the most recent and working back, are:

Leo, Any thoughts on the way hurling is going? So much handpassing, very little 50/50 tussle for possession, short passing ,passing the ball backwards ,the "wildness" is gone in favour of systems, getting harder to watch to be honest, John
