ADONIS ARCHITECTURAL: Miniaturized design meets architectural scales

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

The illumination of facades landscapes is an important element in architecture and can contribute significantly to the atmosphere of a building or space. However, choosing the right lighting solution can be challenging, especially when it comes to accentuating architectural details.

ADONIS ARCHITECTURAL represents a significant evolution of the ADONIS and KALYPSO luminaire families, becoming more versatile, robust and sleeker. Based on the findings of the market and the needs of our customers it enables perfect integration thanks to their miniaturized design and targeted illumination.

The combination of large-area and directional light is ideal for emphasizing structured facades and walls as well as highlighting architectural details on buildings, windows and gables. This type of lighting can even turn entire buildings into prominent landmarks in the urban landscape as well as provide a sense of safety in public areas.

We look forward to providing you with new inspiration for your lighting design with this newsletter.

  • Ease of integration - The profile with a small cross section of?20.5 mm x 28.5 mm?(W x H) can be freely scaled in length and is available in three colors (white, gray, black).

  • Versatility -?The many options include several power levels and color temperatures, as well as options from dynamic white to RGBW, with a choice of 10°, 30°, 60° optics or opal?encapsulation.

  • Sleeker - The choice between solid and translucent end caps combined with smart cabling and mounting options enables seamless light lines.

  • Robust - The polyurethane encapsulation used is resistant to?environmental impacts such as salt water, UV light and solvents. High protection against vandalism thanks to a robust, powder-coated aluminium profile with an IK10 certification.

  • Resistant?- The utilized polyurethane features a 5 times higher chemical resistance to gases?and pollution common in urban contexts an a?10 times lower water transmission compared to typical silicones for LED applications in the relevant temperature range (-50°C to 80°C)

  • Visual Comfort - With the introduction of a new glare shield, an enhanced glare control solution is now available in all three profile colors. This optimized solution ensures optimal visual comfort and reduces discomforting glare, providing an improved lighting experience.

  • Protection - A novel mounting accessory designed for secure screw mounting of the luminaire, specifically tailored for use in applications with a heightened need for protection against vandalism or in instances where enhanced safety measures are necessary for building facades.

Facade lighting Hotel Atlantis The Royal, Dubai, UAE

The newest landmark at the Palm Jumeirah has recently opened its doors to guests, revealing its unique perspective on luxury and contemporary architecture.

Surging 43-storeys high and spanning 406,000 m2,?Atlantis The Royal aims to reimagine and challenge the confines of modern resort architecture. The sky garden concept is supported by the 500-metre-long, 178-metre-tall mega structure positioned on the outer crescent of The Palm Island. With a focal theme of water and fire, the structure has been crafted by the world’s leading designers, architects, and artists.

LED Linear’s ADONIS ARCHITECTURAL?luminaires were installed into the fa?ade of the iconic building due to their miniaturization of point light source and small form factor with a color temperature of 2700 K. Over 1000 luminaires were installed, most of which followed the concealing element to make sure that the light is felt and a natural variation of light is delivered into the vertical plane.

Cinquantenaire, Brussels, Belgium

The old lighting, which dated from the 1970s, was obsolete and inefficient, consuming between 500 and 1,000 watts per lamp. They have been replaced by LED lighting, which reduces energy consumption by more than 50% and provides greater variety and precision in lighting, delivering a more sustainable solution.

The new lighting creates a subtle alternation of light and shadow, emphasizing the rhythm of this classical style monument, a play of color tones between the interior spaces and the facades, reinforcing the perception of depth and perspective, and adds very focused accents that beautifully highlight the copper sculptures. This new lighting generates a balanced, coherent and impressive visual impact for this major monument of the Brussels landscape.

LED Linear? ADONIS ARCHITECTURAL were used for the inner vaults and the architraves (the beams that rest on the column capitals), thus highlighting the smaller details of Cinquantenaire.?

YAS Pedestrian Tunnel, Abu Dhabi, UAE

The tunnel at the Hilton Abu Dhabi on Yas Island is a real eye-catcher because of the extraordinary lighting. It provides Yas Island guests with an undercrossing option from the arrival parking lot to each attraction such as the Yas Marina Circuit-Formula 1 race track.

The remarkably dramatic tunnel effect has been fully realized with the ADONIS ARCHITECTURAL IP67 in RGB. The luminaires has been installed on the ceiling, floor and walls. The clear and long light lines on the ceiling are part of the direct lighting and provide orientation. The unusual arrangement and installation of the luminaires on the floor and walls offers visitors an extraordinary and exciting light scene with the optical illusion of the tunnel narrowing further along.

Mondeal Heights,?Ahmedabad, India

The Mondeal Heights project started with a very classical static flood lighting idea for the fa?ade from client and architects where they wanted to highlight the twisted volume of each tower.

Apart from finding the best technical approach to highlight the twist with optimization of resources and minimal light pollution while beingmindful of the ecosystem, Atelier dada pushed the brief further by adding laser beams at the top level of the buildings where dynamic programming creates the illusion of the buildings pushing and pulling each other. These laser beams operate for one minute at each hour’s beginning, marking the time and evolution of the night. In the second half of the night, the illumination fades and the buildings get enveloped by darkness while their niches transform into huge lanterns flying into the sky to attract the Goddess of wealth Lakshmi.
