Are you familiar with terms like fornication, unrighteousness, and wickedness, and these sins make you cringe??
Many people have a deep aversion to the ways of the world. But here’s the twist: this person, despite their revulsion towards sin, finds themselves doing many of the same things.?
They may even be seen as a respected figure in their community, someone people look up to. The question then arises: can they escape God’s judgment simply because they hate the things of this world?

“But do you suppose this, you foolish person who passes judgment on those who practice such things, and yet does them as well, that you will escape the judgment of God?” (Romans 2:3).
In his letter, the apostle Paul makes it clear that judgment is based on truth. No one can claim immunity from judgment just because they dislike the idea of it or don’t believe in it. The judgment of God is rooted in truth. Merely publicly expressing a strong hatred for sin doesn’t grant you a free pass.
“Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things,” (Romans 2:1).
Here’s the truth: we’re all guilty of the same things. Nobody can make excuses. Paul specifically targets the self-righteous individuals among us. He takes aim at those who believe they are less sinful than others. He wants to make it clear that we are all in the same boat when it comes to sin.
Let’s remember that we’re all sinners who need God’s love and forgiveness. It’s not about claiming to be better than others or hating their sins that saves us from judgment. Instead, it’s when we admit our own mistakes, turn away from them, and accept the healing power of Jesus Christ that we truly find salvation.
