Admitted to the Montreal Bar!

Today, at a swearing-in ceremony presided by the batonnier of Montreal, Brian Mitchell, I have been admitted to the Barreau du Quebec . This is an amazing feeling: to be part of a bilingual community of lawyers with such a unique heritage. I feel like a young lawyer again, decades after my first admission to the Paris Bar and years later to the California Bar.

I enjoyed the humor of my batonnier, who told the story of his mom right after his own swearing in ceremony who said "I certainly can call you Ma?tre now but you still do the dishes".

I feel fortunate to have friends like Luc Richard, avocat au barreau du Quebec, and Laurent Satre from Rezoway, who helped me along the way. My gratitude to my wife Stephanie who always support my endeavors and a word of encouragement to my daughter who just started law school this week at the prestigious Loyola Law School in Los Angeles: keep on the family tradition and do not forget your civil law roots ;-)

My goal is really to build as many bridges as possible between California, Quebec and France.
