Admissions Dashboard - Power BI

One of the most important, yet time consuming task in the admissions office, is the constant reporting. Since I joined #admissions, reports were prepared by-weekly in an excel sheet, then pasted into an email that gets sent regularly until the cycle ends. Needless to say, that at some point, keeping track of the data was challenging. Not to mention, on average it took 30-60 minutes to prepare one report for one program, and the high possibility of human error while reporting numbers manually!

It was then decided that there must be a single source for reporting that all stakeholders should refer to without waiting for admissions to report back. During the past year, I have tried to work with our IT team to prepare a #dataflow, that I later used to design and create admission dashboards for all active programs offered at the university.

We no longer report by-weekly! Every college, committee and concerned management personnel have access to view live data throughout the admission cycle. I have made some adjustments along the way, and there are many features yet to be added. This basic #PowerBI report has saved the team approximately 2-5 hours of work by-weekly. Here is what 2 of the main pages look like, one is for admission numbers and the other is for acceptance data post-offering.

In addition, I piloted live reports with explicit data for Marketing, Scholarships and Finance department as well. The reports are going through constant enhancements based on the feedback received.
