Patal Bhuveneshwar

?Patal Bhuvaneshwar is a fascinating Hindu pilgrimage site located in the town of Almora, Uttarakhand. A visit to this revered site is included on the last day of the journey. The word "Patal" translates to " underworld" or "netherworld", and "Bhuvaneshwar" means "Lord of the World". The cave is believed to be a gateway to the underworld, where Lord Shiva is said to reside. According to legend, the cave was created by Lord Shiva himself, and it's a hub for spiritual growth and self-realization.

Day 1:- Kathgodam to Pithoragarh. Altitude (Kathgodam): 1750 ft. Altitude (Pithoragarh): 1,585 m/ 5,200ft. Driving Distance: 200 km | 7-8 hrs.

Day 2:- Pithoragarh to Gunji/Nabi via Dharchula. Altitude (Dharchula): 915 m/3,000 ft. Altitude (Gunji/Nabi): 3,200 m /10,500 ft. Driving Distance: 170 km | 7-8 hrs.

Day 3:- Gunji/Nabi to Navidhang - Altitude (Navidhang): 4300 m/14100 ft. Driving Distance: 25km | 2-3 hrs.

Day 4:- Nabi to Jolingkong. Altitude (Jolingkong): 4420m/14500 ft. Driving Distance: 20-25 km | 2 hrs. Gunji – Kuti(12,300 ft): 1hr. Kuti - Jolinkong: 15 km | 1 hr. Jolikong- Parvati kund: 500 m trek.

Day 5:- Gunji to Chaukori. Driving Distance: 180km | 7-8 hrs.

Day 6:- Chaukori to Kathgodam via Patal Bhuvaneshwar. Driving Distance: 230 km | 8-9 hrs. Via route Patal Bhuvaneshwar.

One of the most enchanting stops on this route is the Patal Bhuvaneshwar, an enchanting cave-temple. A visit there will complete your pilgrimage and imbibe you with the spiritual energy of the land.
