“The need is always there; it is all about who has the igniting zeal to convert it into a product!” - Sanandan Sudhir (Sandy)
On June 29, 2024, the Association of Designers of India (ADI), Ahmedabad Chapter, celebrated World Industrial Design Day with an inspiring industrial visit to Invent India. This visit showcased the power of passion and innovation in transforming ideas into groundbreaking products.
ADI, now in its fourth year, serves the entire Gujarat region, fostering a thriving design community. To enhance this cohesiveness, ADI organizes numerous initiatives that emphasize the importance of design.
Invent India, founded by the dynamic duo Sanandan Sudhir and Jyoti Sudhir, is a beacon of innovation with over 100 patent applications, 35 granted patents internationally and a diverse portfolio of product designs spanning multiple industries. Their client list includes over 150 national and international companies.
The visit began with Gauri Wagenaar, President of ADI Ahmedabad, introducing ADI and this year's evocative theme, “Let's Get Emotional.” Jyoti Sudhir then took the attendees through Invent India's inspiring journey from a humble home-office to a company valued at ?100 crore. This first-generation design company's story is a testament to the power of vision and perseverance.
Sanandan Sudhir, the visionary behind the world's fastest cooking device, shared his insights on navigating the ever-evolving design landscape, meeting new design demands, and his invaluable learnings in the design service sector. His narrative underscored the importance of design thinking in India's growth and the phenomenal success of On2Cook.
The tour provided a comprehensive look at the product development process, from raw ideas to design, visualization, prototyping, and marketing. The climax of the visit was a live cooking demonstration in their state-of-the-art kitchen lab, where attendees savored a variety of dishes prepared in just 2-6 minutes.
This enriching experience emphasized the critical role of industrial design in shaping a country's brand value and economic progress. The knowledge exchange and hands-on demonstrations left everyone inspired, reaffirming that with passion and innovation, the possibilities are limitless.
