The very first manual method for adhesive testing was released by Pressure Sensitive Tape Council (PSTC) in 1955 with additional 8 methods- 180 peel, elongation, thickness, holding power and water penetration. Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) is the peak load that a tape product can endure during a pull test. ASTM D3759 is used to depict the breaking strength and the elongation of pressure sensitive tapes.
