I’ve always been someone who clings to things until they’re beyond repair or lost. My trusty pink Dell Inspiron 15 laptop, my almost-destroyed pink helmet, and my pink blanket from 6th grade are still with me. I occasionally wear my pink Decathlon running shoes from 2017, and my last pair of spectacle frames lasted until I accidentally smashed them.?Despite owning several watches, including a smartwatch, my favorite remains the small, square-dialed Sonata with a gold finish and a leather strap that I bought with my pocket money. The scratches on the dial are a badge of honor.
?However, my relationship with mobile phones is different. I can't keep multiple phones just to use my favorite one occasionally. I still have all the phones I’ve ever owned?except one. My small Nokia 3G is still with me, such a charming baby. I lost my favorite Samsung Star II Duos, my first touch phone. My first Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy M series, served me well for years. Although true professionals and your loved ones understand you, in the IT world, people often judge you by your mobile phone, much like they judge you by your attire and grooming?skills, which I’ve tended to overlook.
?Despite my reluctance to change phones, digital security concerns have pushed me to switch to the iPhone family with my new iPhone 13 Pink version. It’s been three days since I bought it, and I’m still struggling to let go of my Android love. I suppose I’ll gradually get used to it?- 'hole hole hojye ga pyaar'?- as I adapt to the status quo, hoping that over time, I will adhere to it more firmly.
?This attachment to familiar things may sometimes be perceived as rigidity or an inability to adapt to change. While some might judge this behavior as outdated or resistant, it actually reflects a deeper value for consistency and reliability. Sticking with what you know and trust can be beneficial, offering stability and comfort until a genuine need for change emerges. This approach ensures that decisions to upgrade or switch are made thoughtfully and with purpose, rather than on a whim.

?However, acknowledging when it’s time to embrace new changes, especially in critical areas like digital security or professional standards, is equally important. It’s a balance between honoring your attachments and adapting to necessary progress.
