#AdFab: our favourite ad of the week 'Cheers to all' - Heineken
We’re a bit late to the party on this one, but Heineken’s latest ad is definitely worth a mention.
At Penna, we firmly believe in solid insight underpinning everything we do. And this advert is a perfect case-study of how great insight lays the foundations for great creative work. For this ad, it’s the fact that despite effects to move away from gender coded behaviour, unfortunately it still manifests regularly in everyday situations.
The ad calls these out, showing men and women being wrongly profiled by bartenders and waiters. It’s such a simple message, which is why I think that it’s so effective. It’s tuned into a very common behaviour. Most have been subject to the slightly uncomfortable feeling that comes with the presumption you have made a choice based on your gender or appearance.
So like Heineken, we celebrate the freedom to drink the drink of your choosing. Cocktails, mocktails, beers or lemonade. Let’s ditch the cliches.
