Adel, we hope you enjoyed the experience!

Adel completed an educational internship through the NICE Foundation (Network for Intercultural Experiences), from August 5, 2024 to September 13, 2024.

During her internship, Adel complemented her academic and professional training by acquiring skills, knowledge, and abilities in a real work environment. The internship allowed her to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience, strengthening her ability to handle real-world professional situations.

We want to share her testimony

Hi team,

I can hardly believe it’s already been three weeks since I arrived in Córdoba. Time is flying by faster than I anticipated. In such a short period, I’ve encountered many new experiences, and I’m excited about the many more yet to come.

What impressed me most was how warm and welcoming everyone was. Whether at work, attending a business meeting, taking a salsa class, or participating in social events, I’ve consistently met incredible people.

There have been quite a few surprises along the way. One cultural difference that stood out to me is the tradition of sharing drinks—whether it’s sipping fernet from the same glass or mate from the same straw. It’s something that takes some getting used to!

The food culture here also differs from what I’m accustomed to in Europe, where everyone has their plate. In many restaurants and even at home, meals are shared, which fosters a sense of community. Speaking of food, I have to admit—I’ve fallen in LOVE with dulce de leche! I can’t imagine my future without it, though I suspect I’ll be returning to Germany with a few extra pounds, but certainly happier.

I’ve also had the chance to experience some traditional Cordobese moments. I attended a Belgrano football match, and the passion of the crowd was incredible. Although Belgrano didn’t win, it was still a unique and memorable experience. I also had the opportunity to visit a cuarteto band during their rehearsal, which was fascinating. Now, I just need to learn how to dance cuarteto!

After my six-week internship, I’ll have two more weeks to travel and explore the country. I hope to visit Iguazú, Jujuy, and Salta in the north, and I’m looking forward to seeing if these plans come together. These past few weeks have already been an incredible adventure.

Many thanks to the delsurtranslations team for welcoming and accompanying Adel through his internship at the company. We are happy to see how each experience is unique and how much it opens up and connects through the encounter of different cultures. We wish Adel all the best from NICE during his travels in Argentina and hope to continue sharing new experiences with delsurtranslations.
