I’m curious…?
What are your thoughts about addressing individual actions in front of other team members????
Tell Me: Professional or trashy?
Last Tuesday, a close friend of mine asked me if I thought it was professional or trashy for him to correct a mistake made by a team member in front of their teammates.
First things first, having everyone engaged allows open conversation. Of course.
Everyone can talk about their personal struggles and how they handled it, or how there might be other group members going through the same thing and how that could be addressed.
The thing is….
You always need to be considerate of your team members, even when they don’t get things across the line as you would expect. ?
Ask yourself - will it be beneficial to everyone if it is discussed as a group?
Or, is this something that needs to be discussed in private?
Each Team Member has a unique personality and that some may feel comfortable discussing problems in front of others while others may not. Don’t forget to factor that in.
It is your duty as a leader to know your team and act accordingly.?
REMEMBER:?
The way you deliver your message is as important as your message. Choose your language, your tone, and your action.???
