Addressing plastic waste through regulations

With California's SB 54 as a catalyst, the U.S. is taking strides to reduce plastic waste through new policies like extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws, recycled content mandates, and bans on single-use plastics. Despite progress, varying state regulations and a lack of federal oversight pose challenges to uniform implementation. Success will require investment in recycling infrastructure, innovation in materials, and consumer education.
