ADB Expands Green Affordable Housing in the Philippines

ADB Expands Green Affordable Housing in the Philippines

In the Philippines, a country highly vulnerable to climate risks, the government estimates that the housing shortage will reach 6.5 million by 2030.

However, even if most of the houses needed should cater to the needs of average-income people, local developers tend to focus on mid-to-high-end condominiums and township estates for wealthier urban dwellers.

Our new partnership with Lhoopa will help deliver thousands of green and affordable housing to drivers, security guards, factory workers, teachers, and office administrative workers, with a target of building 4,000 houses annually by 2025 and 8,000 by 2028.
