Understanding Fragility in Asia and the Pacific
ADB engages with and assists developing member countries based on a deep understanding of each case's risks, vulnerabilities, and fragility.
Risk deals with the probability of a negative event occurring. Vulnerability refers to the condition of being susceptible to risk. Fragility combines exposure to risk and the insufficient coping capacity of a state, system, or community to deal with that risk.

My Leadership Legacy, as a stellar servant and transformation leader: I take pride in coaching, mentoring, educating and unlocking human potential. Indeed, I play a vital role in shaping a generation that is informed, engaged, and ready to drive positive change.? The powerful statement from Ajay Banka, World Bank Group President, on The World Bank Group’s reforms over the past year to be a better Bank. "Informed by the G-20 Expert Group, we are advancing a set of reforms at the fastest pace we can". At the 79th Session of the UNGA in 2024, António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), stated: We can’t create a future for our grandchildren with a system built for our grandparents."?

1 个月An excellent initiative for enhancing tourism in Himachal Pradesh, India. It would be wonderful if Asian Development Bank (ADB) could consider a similar project for Bangladesh. Our country has immense potential in tourism with some remarkable attractions, like the world’s longest sea beach in Cox’s Bazar, the Sundarbans—home to the Royal Bengal Tiger, and the beautiful hilly regions of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. These places offer diverse tourism opportunities, from ecotourism to adventure sports. With ADB's support in developing infrastructure, preserving heritage sites, and promoting eco-friendly tourism, Bangladesh could become a major tourist destination in South Asia. Looking forward to the possibility of such an initiative for our beautiful country.
