Joining the Bangkit 2024 program has been a transformative experience that challenged me to adapt in various aspects, equipping me with skills essential for my future career as a mobile app developer. Here’s how I adapted through Bangkit’s “Five Ways of Adaptability” each contributing to my personal and professional growth:
1. Ways of Interacting
Bangkit introduced me to a diverse community of mentors, instructors, and fellow learners from across the country. To make the most of this, I had to adapt my communication style to connect effectively in a virtual environment. Whether in online discussions, group projects, or feedback sessions, I learned to listen actively, give constructive feedback, and present my ideas clearly. Working in this multicultural environment taught me empathy and patience, as I adjusted my approach to accommodate different perspectives. This adaptability in communication has strengthened my teamwork skills, an essential asset in the tech industry.
2. Ways of Achieving
The rigorous nature of Bangkit’s curriculum taught me the importance of setting achievable goals and managing my time effectively. Each week came with a new set of challenges, including coding assignments, quizzes, and capstone project deadlines. I learned to break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps, which helped me stay on track without feeling overwhelmed. By setting short-term goals that aligned with Bangkit’s expectations, I could measure my progress and stay motivated. Celebrating these small victories—whether completing a challenging module or achieving a coding milestone—kept me focused and committed to my overall goals. This structured approach to achieving objectives will be invaluable as I work on complex projects in the future.
3. Ways of Learning
Bangkit pushed me out of my comfort zone, exposing me to new technologies and concepts at an accelerated pace. From mastering Kotlin programming to understanding Android app development, I quickly realized that adaptability in learning was crucial to keep up. I embraced a growth mindset, taking advantage of Bangkit’s resources, such as coding exercises, mentorship sessions, and online forums, to deepen my understanding. If I struggled with a particular concept, I wasn’t afraid to seek help from peers or mentors, which helped me overcome challenges efficiently. This experience taught me to be resourceful, curious, and resilient in learning—qualities that will empower me to continuously evolve in the ever-changing tech industry.

4. Ways of Working
Remote learning presented a new set of challenges, especially in managing my time and balancing responsibilities. I created a daily routine that allowed me to focus on my studies without neglecting other commitments. Setting up a dedicated workspace helped me concentrate during study sessions, and I established a weekly schedule that prioritized Bangkit tasks alongside my other responsibilities. Additionally, I practiced self-discipline by setting specific working hours and taking regular breaks to avoid burnout. This structured approach to work not only improved my productivity but also taught me how to maintain a healthy work-life balance—a skill that will be critical in any future remote or hybrid work environment.
5. Ways of Thinking
The Bangkit program didn’t just teach me technical skills; it also encouraged me to approach problems from a broader, more strategic perspective. Each project challenged me to think critically, analyze requirements, and devise innovative solutions. For example, while working on my capstone project, I was encouraged to consider user needs, scalability, and potential challenges, which pushed me to think beyond immediate coding tasks. This experience has taught me the importance of creative problem-solving and resilience. I now feel more confident in tackling complex problems and am better equipped to contribute thoughtfully to project discussions and planning.
Adapting to these five areas has been a significant part of my journey in Bangkit. I’ve grown not only as a developer but also as a team player, problem solver, and lifelong learner. I’m grateful for the adaptability skills I’ve gained through Bangkit, as they will be fundamental in navigating the challenges and opportunities of my future career in tech.
