Adapting to Ignorance
One of the bigger issues facing the healthcare community has absolutely nothing to do with hospitals that I see people in the Gulf (around me in the Middle East) putting up like they define a healthcare system. Hospitals are the equivalent of shopping centers on one level.
The bigger issue is around understanding truth, if it can be ever found, and making sure that you and I act on it. Controlling human behavior is something not for the faint of heart to think about -- people are complex, irrationale and get mislead pretty easily. The bad news is that this messing with understanding and peoples heads is more of an industry than I find comfortable.
I suggest checking out the included article and then diving into David Dunning's work at Cornell. I have been saying basically the same thing as Dr. Dunning since the Internet opened up to the public, but not with the intellectual depth he brings to the topic. Got to love people like this that fight the tide. Hope it is not a losing battle.
