The Insurance Day London Market Awards concluded last week and it is great to see the appreciation of fellow colleagues, partners , advisory, competition and the ecosystem come together and celebrate the industry on various forums. A forum that brings "Insurance Ecosystem" together. There was one thing common across all categories and nominations – the drive towards innovation. Each category of award was unique in its own way. 

While the industry is going through a phase of concerns related to Brexit, cost reduction measures, risk management , security , technology and so on. Every player is trying to be relevant and have "client" as the focus . The intent to provide best products or services is evident . Winners like Aon, Hiscox or the fin tech who made it , everyone has a story. Insurance industry is being influenced with the changes around regulations, risk or the changing demands . The industry has witnessed and will continue to see more players joining forces through M&As , JVs with fin tech or technology partners.

Leaders like Neil Maidment, Beazley’s chief underwriting officer (CUO) was awarded for the Lifetime Achievement and Inga Beale was recognised for outstanding achievement during her tenure as Lloyd’s chief executive. These personalities have offered so much to this industry through the years , that their experience will only see prosperity as new ideas, new products, new ways to mitigate risk will emerge.
