An adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's poem "If—", inspired by a collaborative effort with an AI.
If you can stay calm when deals are falling through,
And keep your composure when blamed by a few;
If you can remain confident when clients doubt,
Yet understand their concerns inside and out;
If you can wait without frustration for a yes,
Not twisting truth, nor dressing less;
If you can handle rejection without losing your spark,
And keep your vision bright when the path seems dark;
If you can keep your integrity when making your pitch,
Treating wins and losses each without a switch;
If you can rebuild what was once a sure thing,
Using experience as your spring, not clinging to a fling;
If you can risk yet not let losses break your stride,
Starting anew with your goal as your guide;
If you can mix patience with a hunger to grow,
And learn from every no, letting your resilience show;
If you can keep your humility, walking with pride,
Neither overstepping bounds nor letting slides ride;
If you can fill every minute with sixty seconds of fight,
Yours is the world of sales, and—more—you’ll have it right.
