Adapt and Thrive: 5 Ways of Adaptability to Grow in My Journey at Bangkit Academy
Sinta Purnama Dewi
Undergraduate Student of Information Technology at Udayana University
Since joining Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka , I've faced challenges that have pushed me to adapt and grow in new ways. Here are 5 Ways I Adapted in Bangkit.
1) Ways of Interacting
Starting my journey at Bangkit meant adapting to a virtual environment, which is different from my previous in-person experiences. The availability of weekly consultation sessions has been incredibly helpful, allowing me to communicate openly with other participants and mentors. Bangkit’s discussion platforms also enable me to exchange experiences and solutions, and expand my horizons through meaningful connections with fellow participants, which greatly enriches my learning experience.
2) Ways of Achieving
Bangkit’s self-paced learning structure has presented its own challenge for me to set personal goals in alignment with the program's targets, ensuring that I complete tasks within the given deadlines. I started by setting daily goals to maintain consistency in achieving the targets. By setting small but steady steps, I developed a commitment to achieve the best results, regardless of any challenges that arise. This attitude has fostered a sense of personal responsibility and determination to reach my maximum potential.

3) Ways of Learning
I adapt to improve my understanding through learning using English and interactive videos. By making notes that I can understand has helped me learn more confidently. In addition, I always summarize the obstacles and new competencies that I have gained from each learning session.
4) Ways of Working
Working in a virtual team environment has taught me the importance of mastering various digital tools to facilitate work processes, both individually and as a team, such as Google Workspace. Online collaboration demands good time management and teamwork, as well as maintaining the quality of the work produced.
5) Ways of Thinking
My mindset has started to evolve since joining Bangkit, where I now see mistakes as learning opportunities, not failures. I approach each challenge with an open mind, seeing it as an opportunity for personal and professional growth. This mindset has given me the resilience to face new challenges without giving up quickly, as each step forward is a part of my personal growth journey.
