Adam White elected as the new LI College of Fellows Convenor - June 2021

I am delighted to announce that I have been elected as the Convenor of the Landscape Institute College of Fellows. I would like to thank all those that voted for me and I look forward to our next College of Fellows meeting. I am also pleased to say that Helen Tranter FLI has accepted my invitation to join me as a Deputy Convenor. Helen was Vice President during my Presidency and I believe our skills, experience and passion for landscape complement each other.

Our College of Fellows incudes a really impressive list of industry leaders from a diverse range of disciplines and locations who I know are willing to champion our response to today’s most important issues – including climate, biodiversity, and inclusion – and to help attract the next generation to this profession. Their diverse skills span urban design, garden design, horticulture, landscape construction, education, landscape science, parks management, landscape policy and regulation, as well as our largest fields of practice: landscape architecture and landscape planning.

As custodians of the profession’s knowledge, our fellows need more professional and academic debate, greater input into LI policy and should all aspire to be ambassadors for #ChooseLandscape. It is vital that when looking back, we are certain that our actions have indeed worked to better safeguard life of all kinds on this planet – not just for now, but for the future too.

As Fellow’s Convenor it’s great opportunity to work with past presidents, fellows, members and the wider landscape family to support the President, Board, CEO and staff team to create a stronger more inclusive profession.
