Employee Spotlight - Adam Kinder

This month in our Employee Spotlight series, we’re featuring Adam Kinder , one of our talented senior developers who’s just as impressive outside the office as he is in it. Whether he's diving into code or shredding some death metal, Adam brings passion, creativity, and a whole lot of personality to everything he does. Curious about the person behind the role? Let’s take a closer look at Adam’s story, his work, and what keeps him inspired both on and off the clock!

What's it like to work here at Closure Technologies?

A pleasure, Closure has the right balance of small company feel with big company aspirations.

What’s the most interesting thing you’re working on right now?

Like most customers, budget is a big concern heading into 2025. I am currently working on a small team trying to run a Big Data ingest pipeline on a very reduced set of resources. It is challenging work and I'm learning how to streamline and optimize in new ways.

What's the best advice you’ve ever received?

Never stop learning and you'll never get bored. Approach each problem from as many angles as you can.

What motivates you to work hard?

A good challenge, for sure. I enjoy being given tasks that seem nearly impossible on the surface and figuring out the puzzle.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

Definitely music. I've been a musician since I was 15, played "semi-pro" as a death metal guitarist before I traded my long hair for a desk job. These days I enjoy writing and mixing music for a friends video game company and getting out of town with my wife Christy.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Chuck Schuldiner, founder and guitarist of the band Death. He inspired me to pick up my first electric seven string and learn death metal back in the late 90s.

If we asked your friends to describe you in 3 words, what words would they choose?

Driven, compassionate, reliable

Tell us about a recent vacation you have taken

Christy and I went out to Red Rocks in Colorado earlier this year to finally see Primus and A Perfect Circle. Great concert and a gorgeous venue. We are planning to go back and hike around Red Rocks.
