Our tip of the day over on X was to check your conclusion to ensure you have summarised the key points and arguments you've presented in your paper. In this blog post, discover some useful tips for writing a strong academic conclusion that will leave a lasting impression on your readers.
Restate your thesis statement: Begin your conclusion by restating your thesis statement in a paraphrased form. summarising the main argument and/or purpose of your paper to remind readers of the focal point.
Summarise key points: Briefly summarise the main points and/or arguments of your paper, and highlight the most important findings and/or insights.
Connect to the introduction: Link your conclusion back to the introduction, showing how your research and/or arguments have addressed your questions and/or objectives.?
Discuss the significance: Explain why your research is important and how it contributes to knowledge in your field.
Discuss implications: Consider the implications and/or potential applications of your findings, and how your work might impact future research, policy, or practice.
Offer Recommendations: Briefly outline any specific actions or recommendations, particularly if your research paper suggests practical applications.
Consider Limitations: Shows that you are aware of the boundaries of your research to add credibility to your work.
Future Research: Suggest areas for future research, and show your research to be part of the ongoing conversation in your field.
Be positive: Write in a positive tone and emphasize the contributions of your work.

Avoid new information: The conclusion is not the place to introduce new ideas or information, focus on summarising what you have already discussed in the paper.
Be Concise: Get straight to the point, keep your conclusion focused, and avoid any unnecessary repetition.
